Sixty-five Wilkes University students were inducted into the Passan School of Nursing during a ceremony on April 7. At the event, students received their lab coats and signed the nursing pledge.

Bloomsburg University 2019 Dance Minor Concert
"The Light in the Dark: The 9th Annual Dance Minor Concert" will be held at Bloomsburg University on Sunday, April 28, at 3 p.m. and Monday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Carver Hall, Gross Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public. The dance concert features seven pieces, each exploring a unique perspective and theme. The content explored through varied dance styles includes: miscarriage, mental health: depression/anxiety, abusive relationships, standing proudly in your self-essence, suicide, degenerative illness and aging, and consumption/environmental concerns.

Students Participate in National Celebration of Brain Awareness Week
During the national celebration of Brain Awareness Week on Saturday, March 16, Dr. Audrey Ettinger and undergraduate students Alexis Calhoun, Lindsey Davis, Michaela Jones, Aseel Khaleel, Haley Krueger, Kassandra Miller, Tatianna Perez, Ashley Ross, and Adriana Sorrentino, participated in the annual Brain Party at the DaVinci Science Center. Students and faculty (and guest scientist Dr. Michael Finley from Janssen) presented hands-on neuroscience activities to members of the public of all ages together with colleagues from the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience (LVSfN). Dr. Ettinger also conducted demonstrations for students visiting DaVinci on field trips as part of their "Healthcare Career Days" program on March 14 and 15.

48 student athletes from Bates College named to NESCAC All Academic
Forty-eight students from Bates College's winter sports teams have received All Academic honors from the New England Small College Athletic Conference. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 (raised from 3.40 a year ago).

Students helps raise Over $117,000 for the UVM Children's Hospital
The following students helped raise a collective $117,530.29 for the University of Vermont Children's Hospital through active participation in RALLYTHON - UVM's annual year-long student-led fundraiser and 12-hour dance marathon in support of Vermont's local Children's Miracle Network Hospital.

Bloomsburg University Students Participate n PA Intercollegiate Band
Three Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania students participated in the 72nd annual Intercollegiate Band Festival at Wilkes University on March 10. Featured in the band were Randy Baxendale, Krysta Moyer, Sarah Anderson. Baxendale was part of the trumpet section, while Moyer and Anderson were part of the clarinet section. Stephen Clickard, DMA, is director of the BU Intercollegiate Band and also chair of the BU Department of Music, Theatre and Dance. The Intercollegiate Band was comprised of 120 college students from 28 colleges and universities throughout Pennsylvania. The band was featured in a concert at the Dorthy Dickson Darte Center at Wilkes University.

Theatre Production
The BU Players of Bloomsburg University will be performing "Good Kids" from Feb.27 through March 3 at the Alvina Krause Theatre in Bloomsburg. The production will be directed by Dr. Carrie Winship. Performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30pm, Sunday at 3:00pm. All performances at the Alvina Krause Theatre, 226 Center St, in Downtown Bloomsburg. Tickets are Free to BU Students with ID, $6 for Adults, $4 for Students/Seniors. Tickets available in advance at the Haas Center for the Arts Box Office on the campus of Bloomsburg University or at the door starting one hour before curtain. About the Play: GOOD KIDS explores how a sexual assault at a high school party, documented and distributed on social media, shocks the student community and evokes surprisingly varied responses. The recollections and the rumors of the incident incite conflict between the "good kids" in the school community. Kutztown University Announces Fall 2018 Degree Recipients
Kutztown University has conferred degrees for more than 450 students for the Fall 2018 semester. Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish the requirements for graduation throughout the entire year. The following students have been awarded degrees following the fall 2018 semester. The cumulative grade point average necessary for honors distinction is: with honor (cum laude) 3.40; with high honor (magna cum laude) 3.60 and with highest honor (summa cum laude) 3.80. 109 Complete Career Success Certificate at Kutztown University
109 juniors and seniors at Kutztown University have completed a Career Success Certificate for the Fall 2018 semester. The Career Success Certificate is open to all juniors and seniors. Students gain a greater understanding of themselves, employer expectations, effective job search strategies, interviewing skills and the role of social media in the hiring process. They will also be better prepared to conduct the internship, job, or graduate school search.
